What killed this young man, alcohol or suboxone?

A 20-year-old student has been accused in the death of a freshman for selling him a half tab of suboxone. But the young man had also been drinking heavily. Should the people who sold him the alcohol be similarly charged?

You know what bugs me is that people are charged for stuff like this. the reason this bugs me is because I am undecided yes it is wrong to sell it but what about the people buying it. I had a friend, well he is not a a close friend but I used to drink with him, die of cyrosis. He drank everyday, for years. He drank everyday since I have known him. I think I have known him since I was 12, I am now 34. He died two months ago. Who is responsible the government or him. There are times when i think we as a whole try to blame the things we do on other people. Yes it is tragic and maybe it is a disease, but cancer patients take treatments and sometimes they don't make it. should they sue. There is help out there for addicts, if we choose not to take it, is it someone elses fault. i just don't know

Alcohol is legal although not legally sold to the young man (age 20 as well??). But was it sold to him? Or did he just drink along with all his other buddies present at the time?? Did he get the alcohol from family?? The story calls for questions to be asked before we hold "who" responsible for providing the alcohol. On the other hand, Suboxone is a controlled substance and based on what I'm reading here, the student "sold" him a controlled substance therefore "drug dealing". Doesn't sound like he was trying to "help" his friend through withdrawal or anything...sounds like the 20 yr old was promoting a "get high" method..but he didn't know the possible consequences of Suboxone/Alcohol mixing (or he did and didn't care??). Charged with murder or manslaughter? Aiding and abetting? Consequences are being handed out all over the country for this type of irresponsible behavior; even to physicians who "legitimately" are prescribing said "medication".... so who is this young 20 yr old to NOT have to be accountable for his actions??
